Vaseline Petroleum Jelly Vs Majolica Majorca Lash Expander

OHAI GUYS! *u*

Okay, I'll have a Majolica Majorca Lash Expander review soon~! (I bought this for my graduation since I've read good reviews about it)

I haven't bought any makeup removers since I can use baby oil for my old waterproof mascara but after buying Majolica Majorca Lash Expander  and  Mac Studio Fix (which I think is the culprit for my recent clogged pores) so I am now in search for good (and CHEAP!) makeup remover.

I've read at MakeupAlley other reviews about Vaseline petroleum jelly as mascara remover so I've tried this since I already have one on hand.

*Warning: Loaded with pictures.*

On the red corner, the stubborn and hardworking Majolica Majorca Lash Expander~!

Left eye with Majolica Majorca Lash Expander
Right eye with Majolica Majorca Lash Expander
and on the blue corner, the challenger for the makeup remover duty, Vaseline Petroleum Jelly~!

 <ding, ding, ding>

The challenger (PJ) took the first step to attack!
Putting the  PJ on the lashes. (my eye area looked oily with flash because of the PJ, err.)

MMLE or LE (Majolica Majorca Lash Expander) is on defense mode immediately and did not budge upon application and light rubbing!

LE started to clump.
Slightly smudged but LE still hangin' on!:)

The slightest evidence of LE giving in to PJ! I left PJ with LE for 5 minutes.

ROUND 1 ended, result: LE not budging with slight smudge, I wiped my eyelashes/whole eye off of PJ using a tissue and got ready with Round 2 since only a very little LE is removed.

I reapplied PJ to LE and waited for approximately 8 minutes.

ROUND 2:
PJ attacked in pea size mode once again and I lightly rubbed PJ to my lashes controlled by LE. PJ now creating more damage after sitting for approximately 8 minutes!:D

Wiped with tissue after 8 minutes.

ROUND 2 ended, result: LE slowly weakening and slowly thinning but PJ didn't removed it all. My eyelashes still feels a little heavy.

Without further ado I reapplied PJ and let it sit for about 10 minutes (or more because I lost track of the time since I started watching TV/surfing the net out of boredom.)

 ROUND 3:

With still plenty of stubborn LE, I let PJ sit on it for awhile.

My eyelashes look thinner here but there are still LE that stubbornly clung to my eyelashes.

After wiping the PJ, it took away the stubborn LE.

I wiped the second time to remove the leftover debris of PJ and LE. For the third round, the winner is..

<ding! ding! diiiing!>
ROUND 3 ended, result: Petroleum jelly wins on the third round kicking Majolica Majorca Lash Expander's ass! But it wasn't an easy task for Petroleum jelly because Majolica Majorca Lash Expander gave PJ a hard time.:)

Wallet Damage: I can't remember the exact price but I know it ranges from Php100-200

What I love about it:
  • Cheap alternative for a makeup remover, a little bit of it goes a long way.
  • Moisturizing for eyelashes
  • Its consistency is excellent because it doesn't find its way into your eyes unlike local baby oils which has the liquid consistency.
  • Isn't smelly.
  • Easy to remove with just a gentle swipe of tissue.
What I hate about it:
  • It took me three tries to totally remove everything off (for Majorlica but for other water proof mascara that ain't as stubborn, I guess it will only take me 1-2 tries to totally remove it all.)
  • It took me 15-20 minutes (or more because I lost track of time) to have my eyelashes cleared off of everything (removing it is already too time consuming for me since at night after partying/moving all day, I'm too tired to even spare 15-20minutes just to remove just a mascara--I might fall asleep with it!).
Will I recommend this?
Yes, for those who can spare  another 15-20 min instead of just preparing for bed already. For me it won't work because I'm lazy.:P BUT Vaseline is still a must HAVE since it can also be a replacement for empty lip balm, moisturizer, etc. The possibility with Vaseline is endless! (no, i'm not exaggerating).

Will I buy it again?
As stated above, Vaseline Petroleum Jelly has many uses other than mascara/makeup remover so, yes!:)

    1. Hi! Where did you buy the vaseline petroleum jelly? Can't find the brand inside the department stores and supermarkets. This is my email: cai_shuhui@yahoo.com. Btw, you think PJ will help lashes grow longer?
